Top 5 things to consider when renting a wedding photo booth

Renting a photo booth for your wedding?  Awesome!

The wedding photo booth often becomes one of the biggest attractions at weddings.  Whether you are using it to provide entertainment for your guests, as a Thank You favour, or because you want an awesome guest album, it’s important to research the company you hire to make sure they are the right fit for your wedding.

5 Things to consider when hiring a photo booth company

1. Experience/Reliability

Are you dealing with a legitimate business that has been around for at least 3 years?  Many fly by nighters and companies relying on Groupon don’t have the experience of seasoned companies that have been in business for years with 100’s of events under their belts.  Experienced companies have dealt with every situation already and will be able to deal with any unforeseen issues that may come up at your wedding.

2. Reviews/Testimonials

Honest reviews and testimonials on trusted websites can go a long way to provide you with peace of mind that the company you are hiring have a valid track record.

3. Attention to detail

Browse through past events of all the photo booth companies you are considering.  This will give you a great insight into the lighting of the photos and the overall quality of the images.  You will also get a chance to see the various templates, backdrops and props that they supply.  Do these fit into the wedding you are planning?  Do the sample pictures on the website match the quality of the past events?  Some companies may purchase stock photos for demonstration purposes on their website.  This may not be indicative of the quality of their wedding photo booth services.

4. Customer service

Pay attention to the entire booking process from the time of your initial contact to final booking.  A company that responds quickly and efficiently will likely have great customer service.

5. Back up equipment

You hope it never happens.  But there is always the possibility that equipment will fail.  A wedding photo booth is made up of the following equipment: dslr camera, studio flash or constant lighting, computer or tablet, dye sublimation printer, plus a myriad of specialty cables and wires.  All this equipment is being moved around your city on a regular basis and being set up in various locations.  At any time the equipment may fail and you want to make sure that the company you hire is ready to rectify the situation.  Do they have full back up equipment?
