Stevie Wonder plays the Venetian Ball in Toronto.
Where in Toronto can you find ball gowns, glittering masquerade and.. Stevie Wonder?
Glamorous and Mysterious The Venetian Ball is considered one of Toronto’s most exquisite annual charity benefits. At last Saturday’s 17th Annual Ball, the sparkling star of local annual fundraising events raised over 1.2 million dollars for community causes.
After a warm welcome with cocktails and appetizers provided by some of Toronto’s premier restaurants, the glittering guests were seated in the ballroom. Iconic Canadian impressionist Rich Little performed with band Simply Grand during dinner to warm up the crowd for the live auction and raffle. From the booth we heard live auction bids exceeding 60 thousand dollars. Wow!
To everyone’s astonishment the night’s ‘Mystery Entertainer’ was none other then Stevie Wonder himself, who played his greatest hits for the delighted crowd. He looked and sounded simply incredible and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all attendees. After his generous performance, the grand piano he played was auctioned off to one extra lucky fan.
The Snapshot Photobooth was a whirlwind that night. There were 4 of us from Snapshot plus 2 great volunteers there to help guests ‘Get in The Picture’. The Booth was humming as over 2000 bejewelled, masked revellers marked the evening in our classic gold frame and took home their unique 4×6 Snapshot photo.
Here are some of our favourite shots from the 2010 Venetian Ball.
Thank you Villa Charities for an unforgettable experience!
